Project Overview

Mode Interiors was responsible for delivering comprehensive industrial painting services as part of the refurbishment of a former church into a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Our scope of work included:

  • Surface Preparation and Priming
Thorough preparation and priming of all surfaces to ensure long-lasting durability and a professional, smooth finish.

  • Application of Commercial Grade
Use of high-quality, industrial-grade paints specifically selected to withstand the daily demands of a school environment while promoting a calm and inclusive atmosphere.

  • Heritage Building Compliance and Safety
Execution of works with full consideration of the building’s heritage status, maintaining safety compliance and minimising disruption throughout the project duration.

Challenges and Solutions

Working within a heritage building presented structural and compliance challenges, which were met with a sensitive and strategic approach to protect original features. Creating a supportive space for SEND students required thoughtful colour selection to promote calm and comfort. Despite tight deadlines and budgetary constraints, our team delivered the project on time and within budget—demonstrating our commitment to quality, safety, and reliability.

Results

  • Successful Transformation: A heritage church was successfully repurposed into a fully functional SEND school, delivering both aesthetic quality and practical performance.

  • Supportive Learning Environment: Thoughtfully selected colour schemes created a calm, inclusive space tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.

  • Preserved Heritage Features: All painting works were completed without compromising the architectural integrity of the historic building.
